"Ii" Daimyo Family tanto
by Tsunanobu
Solid* Silver mounted

The School of Tsunahide (also read as Tsunateru) was one of the most successful contributions to the Shin Shinto sword renaissance. Amongst the most famous makers were Tsunahide (The Founder), Koyama Munetsugu of Bizen, and his group Tsunanobu. Tsunanobu is said to be the finest maker in Yamogawa during the Bunka 1804 period. His work was sought after by many Daimyo families (such as this Solid* Silver mounted with the “Ii” Daimyo Mon [Family Crest] of the Akaoni “Ii”.)
