A very large iron with measurements of 9 cm x 7 cm (3 1/2" x 2 3/4") Tsuba from Mito School, signed tanitabke, Michinaga (makers name) from Mid Edo period approx 1750 AD. Province: Joshu (Hitachi). Rated Upper Class. The Tsuba depicts two wooden masks of a Oni in his various moods, the first being his jovial side and the other being the beast side.
